Our complete IDC internship offers a truly comprehensive program that will far exceed the requirements of the PADI IDC with the goal of creating the best dive instructors in the industry. With our unique support system prior and after your IDC we can offer an unparalleled training facility that many have compared to the Harvard of Diving!

Prior to your IDC you can come and brush up on your skills and knowledge at no extra cost. We also offer extra workshops in equipment maintenance, compressor, CV and resume, digital workshops and job placement assistance. As Crystal Divers is one of the most established dive centers in Bali we have a high number of students that you can team teach with our senior instructors after your IDC to gain immediate experience and confidence which will incredibly beneficial to you as PADI professionals.

With 10 IDC programs a year we have the flexibility to accommodate candidates all year round. Our Complete IDC packages include everything you need to become a PADI Instructor including all PADI materials, fees and Emergency First Response Instructor course, fees, and materials.

PADI IDC Pre-requisites

To qualify to enter the Assistant Instructor course, you must:

  • Be certified as a PADI Divemaster or have an equivalent rating.
  • Have completed and logged at least 60 dives as documented by your logbook, including night, deep and navigation dives.
  • Be at least 18 years old.
  • Have been a certified diver for at least six months.

To qualify to enter the PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor course, you must:

  • Be certified as a PADI Assistant instructor or be an instructor in good standing with another training organization for at least six months.
  • Have completed and logged at least 60 dives as documented by your logbook including night, deep and navigation dives.
  • Be at least 18 years old at the start of the course.
  • Submit medical clearance for diving signed by a doctor, confirming fitness to dive. The medical clearance must be current within the previous 12 months.
  • Have proof of CPR training within the last 24 months.
  • Be certified as EFR Instructor previous to certification as an OWSI.

Note: Proof of 100 dives is a pre-requisite for attending the Instructor Exams (IE)

What you will Learn

During the course you’ll learn how to apply the PADI System of Education by presenting at least

  • How to Teach the RDP (Instructors from recreational diver training organizations other than PADI must complete.)

You will demonstrate competence at

  • performing all 24 dive skills listed on the Skill Evaluation.
  • performing a facedown, nonstop swim for 800 metres/yards using a mask, snorkel and fins.

During the course you’ll need to demonstrate competency in Dive theory by passing a five-part theory exam scoring a minimum of 75% on each part .

What you can teach

After becoming an Open Water Scuba Instructor, you will be able to conduct the entire range of PADI programs from Discover Scuba Diving up to Divemaster. You may also choose to acquire specialty instructor ratings in areas of interest, such as Wreck, Deep, Enriched Air or one of the other many options we provide.
